Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959) - The Monster Zone

In 1958, the Corman brothers, containing Gene and younger brother Roger, came together, along with director Bernard Kowalski, to bring two monster movies to life. In '58 it was NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST. In '59 it was ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES, a story of some giant leeches that are consuming human that enter their swamp. With little to no money, limited time and monsters made of trash bags and tape, is it one that stands as a Corman so bad it's good film? Or a leave it out in the swamp film? Beginning of the End (1957) - The Monster Zone

Burt I. Gordon was a savant when it came to giant animal attack movies, bringing live animals on a massive scale to the screen in ways not seen in Hollywood. In 1957 he directed the GIANT locust movie BEGINNING OF THE END with legendary actor Peter Graves, bringing forth what he could do in this genre. We look back at this now almost 70 year old movie wondering if it still brings the magic, or if its's a forgettable classic, if that makes any sense. Watch out for the bugs on this episode of THE MONSTER ZONE.
